Dances With Pork Chops

Got a little blast from the past the other day as someone was pounding"SaliĆ³ el Sol" by Don Omar from their car.  When I first heard that song I was perplexed...."quiero saber que ella baila con chuletas (I want to know how she dances with pork chops,")  Yeah! I wanted to know, too!  How did she dance with pork chops???   I chalked it up to the fact that I don't know a lot of slang.  So I sang it loud and proud in the clubs, with my pals, wherever.  No one said anything.

Years later I saw the lyrics..."Quiero saber que ella baila como Julieta." "I want to know how she dances like Juliette."  Oh. That's different. Never mind.

International Love

The Universe has brought me so many gifts. Today, in the form of soap from Canada. As a Buddhist who showers, (regularly,) this luxurious treat is perfect for me.

I believe that the Universe puts me right where I should be, exactly when I should be there, and gives me precisely what I need. (Do I need a shower? Actually, yes.) This is one more example of the Universe showing me that love abounds. That people are thoughtful and kind. And that I am never, ever alone. Thanks, Stephy.

Welcome!

Anne Lamott explained it best:
"I wasn't a child; I was a case manager."

Here we go!  Visit often for bits of urban YA fiction, laughs, oddities, embarrassing stories about my Karate teaching and training, 12 step slogans that may, (or may not,) make you roll your eyes.  And love and gratitude.  Always love and gratitude.
